Harvest for us all
This piece is inspired by the song “Harvest For Us All” by The Isley Brothers - about how much of the world is in need. Makes me think about what Kamala Harris said about sometimes being the first but never the last. Especially as Americans, personal achievement is often the driving factor for people. We don’t think about community and looking out for each other. And then we wonder why we have unchecked psychopaths performing mass shootings… So this piece has carnelian beads of slightly different colors and shapes, that come together to make a pattern. The pattern hangs from brass plates recycled from bullet casings - a symbol of protection.
